👉 Remember that you can hit "reply" at any time and you will reach me directly! 📩 The Curse of Knowledge Is RealYou know too much. That sounds like a weird problem to have, but it’s exactly what keeps creators, professionals, experts, and entrepreneurs from making videos that connect. When you live and breathe your craft every day, it’s easy to forget that your audience doesn’t. So you rush past the basics, bury people in jargon, or assume they can follow leaps you’ve spent years mastering. Meanwhile, they’re just trying to catch up. The curse of knowledge is simple: the smarter you are, the harder it gets to explain things clearly. And until you break the curse, your best videos may keep falling flat. The TrapHere’s how the curse shows up in your videos: You skip the setup because of course everyone knows what you’re talking about. You drop acronyms, jargon, and insider terms that feel natural to you but sound like static to your audience. They might make sense to your peers but not your prospects. You blow right past the “easy” part, because you’ve said it a hundred times, forgetting this might be the first time they’ve ever heard it. Think about when a doctor rattles off Latin terms and treatment names, but what you really want to know is, “Am I okay?” or “How do I get better?” That’s what happens to your audience when you’re too deep in your own head. None of this happens on purpose of course. It’s muscle memory. You’ve been living inside your expertise for so long that you can’t see what it feels like to be on the outside looking in. And that’s the trap: the very knowledge that makes you great at what you do can quietly make your videos impossible to follow and painful to watch. The ShiftWhen most people are faced with their own curse of knowledge for the first time, they often have the same reaction as many others to dumb it down. The fix isn’t to “dumb things down.” Your audience doesn’t need baby food, they need clarity.
The best teachers, coaches, and creators aren’t the ones with the deepest expertise. They’re the ones who can reach back, grab the beginner version of themselves, and explain it in a way that person would understand all while drawing from the years of experience and expertise they have in their back pocket. It really is a delicate balance. When you create that balance on video, people lean in. They stop feeling talked at and start feeling guided through. That’s the moment you stop losing them and start earning their trust. Check out this hilarious video showing even the simple curse of knowledge about “How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich” can lead to some detrimental outcomes. 🤣 The PayoffClarity scales. When you learn to break the curse of knowledge, your videos stop being one-off moments and start becoming repeatable assets. A clear video is easier to remember. It’s easier for your audience share. It’s easier for your audience to explain to someone else. That’s the real win: clarity compounds. Each simple, sticky idea builds on the last until your audience doesn’t just hear you, they understand you. The goal isn’t to sound smart. The goal is to make your audience feel smart for finally “getting it.” That’s what creates momentum, trust, and reach. Strive to Create Lightbulb Moment’s. 🧠 ➡️💡Your job on camera isn’t to impress people with how much you know. It’s to make them feel that spark of recognition, the “Oh, I get it now” moment that sticks. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing someone say, “Oh wow, I never thoughts of it like that before.” It is one of my favorite things in the world! Remember that every video is a chance to flip a switch for someone. Do it enough times, and your audience will come back to you not just for answers, but for clarity they can’t get anywhere else. 👉 Remember that you can hit "reply" at any time and you will reach me directly! 📩 That subject line was pretty bold, wasn’t it? Well, we meant every word. Most storytelling advice is bloated, abstract, and oozing with with buzzwords and jargon. Video Creators don’t need more theory. They need a way to unlock their stories, fast and tell them in a way that lands quickly with audiences. This week, we’re handing over part of the storytelling system we’ve used with clients for over a decade....
👉 Remember that you can hit "reply" at any time and you will reach me directly! 📩 What do you do when you’ve lost everything? Everyone talks about “staying positive.” But nobody tells you what happens when things get so bad… positivity isn’t even an option anymore. That was me in 2020: Tenants stopped paying rent. My business conference shut down. Everything I built: Gone, all at once. At first, I was furious. Then I was exhausted. Then I crossed this weird line… Where it all became so...

You can force a grin, but your eyes still look tense. You can hit every word, but your voice still flattens when you don’t believe it. You can polish the delivery, but your body language spills the truth. The lie...
